TAMPA, Florida -- The Iowa Raptors might want to consider a name change for the rest of the season after their weekend performance at the Alliant Energy Powerhouse in Cedar Rapids. The Io-wow Raptors might be more like it.

With the Wichita Wings visiting, the two teams needed eight quarters, two overtimes and a shootout before the Raptors thrilled their fans with identical 5-4 wins. The results left the two teams tied atop the Midwest Division, with the Iowa Demon Hawks hot on both of their tails at 3-0. And if three in a row against Wichita weren't enough for the Raptors (all three were one goal games with Wichita winning on their home turf 10-9 to start the "thrillogy"), their next start is against the undefeated Iowa Demon Hawks with a road trip to Des Moines on February 14

It wasn't a great weekend to be visiting Mexico either, with Sonora sweeping a doubleheader from Soccer Central, and Mexico City and Guadalajara each getting home wins against the visiting Texas Spurs.

The Demon Hawks are getting into the meat of their schedule finally, doing so with a back-to-back wins over the Minnesota Blizzard in Week 9, while the Salisbury Steaks went right to the final seconds before handing Baltimore its second tough-luck loss in as many starts.
