Newcomers help Harrisburg Heat, Turlock Express to sweep of weekend doubleheaders
TAMPA, Florida -- Two newcomers in Major Arena Soccer League 2 had a big impact on their respective teams this past weekend as each helped their clubs to doubleheader sweepts.
Oscar Barrientos of the Harrisburg Heat is the Offensive Player of the Week for week 15. Barrientos silenced a big Danbury Arena crowd on Sunday with his four goal performance to lift the Heat to a 5-0 start in advance of their home opener March 20 at Hersheypark Arena. For good measure, in his first game of the weekend against Spice City, he chipped in with a goal as well.
Angel Joaquin-Guzman earned Goalkeeper of the Week honors after holding the Soccer Central Black Hawks to just one goal in a 13-1Turlock Cal Express win this past weekend. He took a shutout to the final 15 minutes before losing the clean sheet. He was also the starter on Saturday when the two faced each other in Northern California.
