Mexico City's Davalos and Valdavinos are Week 6 Offensive, Goalkeeper honorees

TAMPA, Florida -- Major Arena Soccer League fans have long awaited Mexico City's arrival to pro indoor soccer, so when Deportivo Asunción de la Ciudad de México made the MASL 2 plunge in 2025-25, it was big news.

They also got big performances from two of their many star players for legendary coach Genoni Martinez who guided Mexico City to a pair of season-opening win in California.

Eduardo Davalos is the league's Offensive Player of the Week for his five goal performance in wins over Turlock and Soccer City, including a hat trick in the win over the Black Hawks in Northern California. 

The Goalkeeper of the Week is no stranger for MASL Fans. Berna Valdovinis held the Black Hawks to just a pair of goals against Soccer Central, and has put together quite and indoor career to date. He has started in 70 games in the MASL, and has 87 total appearances, with an incredible 66 win. In the regular season, his goals against average for his six years in the MASL with San Diego, Monterrey, Sonora and Chihuahua is 5.84.

Mexico City is gearing up for a huge matchup Saturday as they travel to Hermosillo to meet Soles De Sonora on Saturday night, another team loaded with some of the top indoor players in the last 10 years including Franck Tayou and Cristhian Segura among many.
