Honorees lift Omaha Kings and OKC Certified Lions to big wins in week 12

TAMPA, Florida -- Ali Sodal of the surging Omaha Kings and Cesar Avila who has helped the OKC Certified Lions to seven straight wins at the start of 2025-26 Major Arena Soccer League 2 season are the Players of the Week for week 12. 

Sodal is part of a talented Omaha Kings lineup that has gotten off to a slow start, but has won two in a row and will have a chance to make it three straight when they host Minnesota this weekend. Sodal has pedigree in both the MASL and MASL 2. He played for the Kings in 2020-21 when he scored 20 goals and added six assists. He also has played 37 games in the MASL for Kansas City and St. Louis with nine career points. Last weekend, he had four goals and one assist in a huge win over the Iowa Raptors.

Avila got the win against the visiting Guadalajara Mariachis, posting a shutout for the two quarters he played and picking up the win in the 8-3 decision. He was credited with seven saves, Splitting time in net with Danny De Leon, he has three wins so far in 2025-26.
