TAMPA, Florida -- Even 16 weeks into the regular season, there are still plenty of surprises popping up in Major Arena Soccer League 2 action.
Like the league's first shutout in 2025-26 for Harrisburg Heat player/coach Hugo Silva as the long-time indoor franchise made its debut at the Hersheypark Arena. Like the Minnesota Blizzard, having their best weekend ever in their short two-year history by entertaining the home folk with a sweep of the Wichita Wings. Or how about the improved Texas Spurs winning two straight now as they needed overtime to tip Turlock.
Not as much of a surprise: The Iowa Demon Hawks continuing their good play as they took a road doubleheader from the Iowa Raptors, who almost dealt the Demon Hawks their first loss of the season. The OKC Certified Lions continued to roll in the South with a win over Turlock, and Utica's United Elite Krajisnik got a key East Division win over Spice City.
Harrisburg picked up a second win over the weekend, this one against Baltimore, and Mexico City continues to keep pace with OKC -- the Asuncion are 9-0 and Certified Lions 8-0 in the South -- with a big road win in Guadalajara.
This weekend all eyes will be in the midwest as Mexico City and OKC will tangle Saturday at the OG&E Coliseum on Oklahoma City. Mexico City will also play Sunday in Dallas against the Spurs.
