Fowler, Narez are Player of the Week honorees for Offense, Goalkeepers
TAMPA, Florida -- California was the place to be this weekend as games in the Golden State decided the MASL 2 Week 8 Offensive and Goalkeeper honors as both honorees helped their respective teams get their first win of the 2025-26 season.
Wyatt Fowler of the Texas Spurs is the Offensive Player of the Week, scoring six goals in two games this weekend, including four against the Turlock Cal Express. The Spurs downed Turlock 9-8, with Fowler getting the game winning goal with just 2:54 remaining. He is a veteran of 25 Major Arena Soccer League games with the St. Louis Ambush and Texas Outlaws, recording seven points.
Goalkeeper of the Week Fabian Narez held the Spurs offense in check Saturday however in Watsonville, as the Soccer Central Black Hawks defeated Texas 12-4. In fact, the Spurs only found the back of the net twice until two meaningless goals in the final seven minutes of play. A Salinas native, he has also suited up for Monterrey Bay FC in USL 1. He played collegiately at Hartnell.
