TAMPA, Florida -- With severe winter weather causing plenty of postponed games at every level of the MASL pyramid, California was the place to be this weekend where the weather was sunny and the soccer action hot.
The Texas Spurs rallied in the fourth quarter for a win in a back-and-forth affair in Turlock in a game that showed a tie score line on six different occasions. The following night, the Soccer Central Black Hawks entertained a large home crowd by scoring a dozen goals in a 12-4 win over the Spurs for the Hawks first win of the season in two tries.
It's doubleheader weekend in MASL 2 this coming Friday, Saturday and Sunday as the Minnesota Blizzard will be in Des Moines to meet the Iowa Demon Hawks for a pair, the Black Hawks will hit the road for two against Soles De Sonora and finally in a juicy rematch, the Iowa Raptors will host the Wichita Wings in a double dip.
Texas also is playing two games away again, with a stop to meet the Guadalajara Mariachis and Mexico City.
